Y’all – WHAT A YEAR! 2016 marked the first full calendar year that I spent all 365 days working full time in my business. Crazy! This has always a been a dream of mine, and I’m so blessed that it happened way sooner (I’m talking YEARS sooner) than I ever expected, but that’s another post for another day. 🙂
I think it pretty much goes without saying that I love my job — but in case you were wondering: I REALLY LOVE MY JOB!! And I have a lot of fun doing it! Luckily, I’ve had many friends, seniors, moms and 2nd shooters capture some shots of me along the way, so I’m sharing some of them with you today! (And a big thank you to everyone who took these, for making the effort to find me on Facebook, email me, and text them my way!) Alright, here we go:
If you haven’t noticed… I’m not that tall. (Sometimes I forget this.) But luckily, all those years of dance growing up paid off and I’ve still got that relevé down like a champ! Here’s some proof:
#calves – still got ’em.
And when my tippy toes just don’t quite do it, there’s always a stool… or chair… or whatever…
And my last resort: hold up my camera and hope to nail focus… 🙂
“Great! Y’all look beautiful! Now just scoot in a little closer…”
“Okay, ladies – let’s squish in a bit closer!!”
“Line up your toes, line up your toes, line up your toes….” Â || “And you sir, I’m going to have you scoot in just a little bit closer.” (This gem was provided courtesy of Uncle Chuck – sneaking photos during family portraits!)
“Okay guys, scoot in closer… here let me help you!”
And again, “Let’s scoot in closer!”
“Keep scooting in…” || Perfect!
Sometimes I fluff dresses… and sit in the middle isle on the ground…
And pick bugs out of veils… not my classiest stance ever, but it got the job done!
“Hey, here’s some open shade!” || “Oh, maybe I should smile…” || Awkwardly smile…
Occasionally I’ll take some family photos of children… and when I do it looks something like this! Â || But most of the time I just stick with weddings and seniors!
And find a spot to stick my feet in the river after stepping in an ant bed…
Or take photos in a field behind a Freddy’s Frozen Custard because this girl LOVES sunflowers!
And of course I represent the CRU when they decide to go to UMHB!
How are all these girls so tall?! “Don’t mind me, I’ll just stand on this parking barrier… I’ll blend right in! Right?!”
Back to weddings…
Angie the Golf Cart Chauffeur:
Angie the Horse Whisperer…
Seriously: Bring something furry to your wedding and we WILL be friends!
Just hangin’ with my favorite Beer Burros, John Wayne and Annie Oakley!
Probably just walking backwards – not paying attention to what’s behind me.
Who has ever seen me run into something? *And all the people raised their hands* Luckily, this was an open field, so it was a pretty safe bet!
Start a wedding day off by giving me all the pretty details in a corner by a huge window and you’ll be one of my favorite people ever!! I mean, all my brides are my favorites, but really: this combination is GOLD! 🙂
When a friend comes along to shoot, you take a selfie!
Where’s Waldo – Angie Edition:
And one more…
Cheesin’ it because “I bring the light!” (J&M Lighting Workshop anyone?!)
And testing the flash…
And REALLY cheesin’ it…
Oh heyyy…
Let me just fix that curl…
*Just married* “Hey guys, can I join?!”
If you were wondering, I’m a very experienced Third Wheel – in case you need someone on your big day. 🙂
And I LOVE to dance!!
Footloose anyone?!
Bubble Exits – a sure way to not catch you (or your photographer) on fire!
And this photo right here: This will be one that I’ll always look back on, see the smile on my face be reminded of just how much I love my job!
