There were so many things I loved about this day at Big Sky Barn and by far, my favorite part was any time spent with Justin and Lisa! Lisa and I met while in college at UMHB together, and she is one of the sweetest, most genuine and kind-hearted people I have ever met. Anyone that knows her even in the slightest I am sure would agree with me!
When she contacted me earlier this year about shooting her wedding, I was absolutely thrilled! I remember being so excited to meet Justin at their engagement session because I knew Lisa was so wonderful, and that he would have to be just the same – and he is! Justin is equally as kind and genuine and absolutely adores Lisa. I don’t think they stopped smiling once during their engagement session and it was the same on their wedding day!
The Wedding Day
Justin and Lisa got married Big Sky Barn, a newly completed Houston area wedding venue. It’s a beauty for sure! I arrived about 20 minutes early to take a look around and it poured down rain literally right after I made it inside with all my photography equipment. Thankfully, the rain let up in time for their First Look to still take place under the trees and by the bridge Lisa loved. Of course, with it being Houston, we had plenty of humidity, but it wasn’t raining, so I was happy!
The rain held off for us to squeeze in some Bride & Groom photos and complete the wedding party photos before the ceremony – thank goodness! – because about 5 minutes after the ceremony was over it STORMED! I saw more dark clouds rolling in during the ceremony, so right afterwards I followed Justin and Lisa outside to grab a few more photos before the heavens let loose. We snuck in about 2 maybe 3 minutes of portraits before the rain started coming down and then were able to take a few more using the window light inside the chapel. The night continued with dinner and dancing and then a sparkler exit and Lisa & Justin riding off in a mustang – so fun! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their wedding day. 🙂
