I am pretty picky when it comes to what I am hanging up on the walls in my home and framing in the spaces I spend a lot of time. I love looking around and knowing there is a purpose / intention / memory attached with the things I give space in my house. Since we’re all spending A LOT more time at home these days, I thought I would share a few ways you can incorporate meaningful artwork in your home to help spark some creativity and hopefully brighten up the space you’re in!

Photos of your wedding day + family + loved ones + friends
As a photographer myself, this is the most obvious suggestion – I KNOW. But, you’d be surprised how many people put off actually ordering prints of meaningful moments with their favorite people! If there’s anytime to get these up in your house, this is it! Design a gallery wall, order prints and frames and get those photos up on your walls!! You’ll thank me for this one for years to come.

Framed Sheet Music
One of my most loved things hanging on my wall is a framed print of sheet music from my favorite hymn, It Is Well With My Soul. I found it at Kirkland’s a few years back and so many times it has served as a much needed reminder to me. You could also get framed lyrics of a meaningful song, such as a first dance song, or a song played during your wedding ceremony. If you’re looking for hymns, here are a few of my favorite picks from Etsy Shops:
Art Prints of Meaningful Locations
If you have landscape or scenery photos of some of your favorite places you’ve been, use them! If you’d like more professional, artistic prints of your favorite vacation spot, a place you’ve traveled, your honeymoon destination or even your hometown / state, try searching for these images on Etsy as well.
Commission a Calligrapher to Create a Custom Art Piece
There are SO many possibilities here! Your favorite Bible verse, meaningful quote, song lyrics, wedding vows… have those words up on your walls to see everyday! My wedding vendor friend, Jen, is offering custom pieces right now and they are SO gorgeous! You can check out her work here: Jen Krause Paper Co.
Artist Originals or Prints
I have a whole mix of prints and artwork in my home and I LOVE each piece! Pick out a piece from a favorite artist or photographer, buy from a local artist in your hometown or when you go on a trip, support your artist friends… so many ways to do this! Examples of pieces I have on my walls are: A Monet print my sister gave me, an original watercolor of a beach at sunset by my godfather, my favorite Ansel Adams image, and prints from my friend, Michelle Boyd (the artwork in the featured image of this post!).
BONUS TIP: Framing Artwork
And if you have artwork already, but it isn’t framed, Framebridge is a great resource! You can either mail in your artwork or images, or upload a digital file of it and they will professionally print, mat and frame your piece complete with UV protection, kraft paper backing and hanging hardware. (Also shipping is free!) Frames are a custom made for the size of your artwork and they can frame anything from photos to documents like diplomas and certificates, posters, newspaper articles, etc!
