These Lake Georgetown Engagement Photos are some of my favorites! 1) Because this is one of my favorite locations and a hidden gem, and 2) Because I just LOVE this couple!! The first time I met Peri was when she was in a bridesmaid in Bo and Adrian’s San Antonio wedding last March. I distinctly remember her being so incredibly kind and helpful toward me and thought she was just the sweetest friend!

Fast-forward a few months, and I get an Instagram message from her saying she was engaged and wanting to use me as HER wedding photographer! Y’all – not many things make my little wedding photographer heart happier than having one of the first things people do after getting engaged being contacting me to be their wedding photographer and asking what dates I have available! Especially when it’s couples as sweet as Will and Peri! (But let’s be honest, I’m so incredibly blessed with all my couples being the sweetest!)

Will and Peri wanted a simple, natural setting for their engagement photos, I thought that The Overlook Park at Lake Georgetown would be the perfect spot. The trails, fields, and waterfront spots are just all so pretty. Also, it doesn’t even look like you’d be in Georgetown — Like I said: Hidden Gem! These two are so genuinely happy around each other, making my job so easy and also making me even more excited for their wedding at The Wildflower Center this June! (Not to mention my excitement of working with some amazing vendor friends: Uptown Events, The Heirloom Table and Lola Beauty!)

One of my favorite moments from the session was when we were walking past this field down to the water. I looked over at the field and it had turned this really pretty orange color and thought, “Oh my goodness, that would make such a pretty photo!” But I knew Peri really wanted photos down by the lake, and we were just about at sunset, so I figured I’d do that first and if we had time, stop by the field for a quick photo or two on the way back. Well, literally JUST as I had finished these thoughts, Peri turns to me and says, “Okay, so I know we’re headed to the water, but can we stop and take a photo in that field over there? I just have this idea of a wide shot with us in the middle of it…” and my immediate response was, “You are totally reading my mind!!” So we took a short detour over to the field and it was so worth it. 🙂
