I remember when first met Mackenzie back last fall for coffee thinking, “She is just the sweetest! I hope this works out!” So you can imagine how excited I was when she emailed me to let me know that her and Chris would like to use me as their wedding photographer! Since they don’t live in the same city, it took a while for all of us to coordinate schedules to get an engagement session on the calendar, and I got even more excited when she told me she wanted to take photos at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio!
I absolutely love when couples think outside of the box for their engagement session locations, and I’m always up for shooting somewhere new! This museum is absolutely stunning. It definitely fits Mackenzie’s classy personality and was a perfect backdrop for hers and Chris’ engagement photos. The weather that day was really cloudy – like the dark, thunderstorm kind of clouds – so I was a little worried about the light, but decided to stick with it and I’m so glad we did! This location was PERFECT to shoot at during a cloudy day because of all the pretty sidewalks and light colored buildings! If I hadn’t told you the weather wasn’t good, I bet you never would have known!
I can’t wait to celebrate with these two in less than two weeks at Canyonwood Ridge for their wedding, but until then: Enjoy some of my favorite of Chris & Mackenzie’s McNay Art Museum engagement photos:
