I have been looking forward to Jackson and Ellen’s Olde Dobbin Station wedding since LAST Thanksgiving when she reached out to me! We got hers and Jackson’s date on my calendar a year out from their wedding day and that seemed like forever away at the time. Well when her wedding day actually arrived I could hardly believe it had already been a full year!! These two had been dating coming up on seven years when they tied the knot, and the majority of that time they spent long-distance, so this day was a long-time coming!
I love how simple and classy Ellen’s details were – especially her green invitation suite! Green isn’t a color I see a lot of, but this rich emerald sure is a favorite in my book. And if you’ve been following along with me, you know that this dusty blue, greenery, gold and white color scheme is my all-time favorite! I knew one of the reasons Ellen loved Olde Dobbin was because of all the ivy growing up the buildings. I wanted to figure out a way to incorporate that into her detail photos and found the PERFECT place to hang her dress on the doorframe outside of one of the reception space. I love when I find a perfect and unique place for dress shots!
After getting ready, Jackson and Ellen shared a sweet First Look and took time to exchange gifts. From there we got the whole wedding party together and had fun taking portraits before heading in for their ceremony. Because they chose a First Look, all of the family portraits were done before the ceremony, which meant we had a full thirty minutes for sunset portraits over in the field! These are my favorite shots from their day. 🙂
