These two are just so much fun and such a joyful couple!! The first time I met Nate and Erica in-person was for their Downtown Austin engagement photos, and they hardly stopped smiling the entire time! You’ll quickly see from their portraits that they just light up around each other.
Nate and Erica wanted to have photos taken that reflected Austin since his family will be coming down from Canada for their wedding, so naturally we had to get the skyline in the images! The tricky thing with the skyline sometimes is that during Golden Hour, the sun reflects right off of all of the buildings from the best photo locations, so you usually have to time it riiiight before the sunsets to avoid really harsh, reflective light. Well, lucky enough for us, the morning of Nate and Erica’s engagement session it stormed and the clouds stuck around the rest of the day! Not normally something I would enthusiastically say “Lucky us!” about, but the somewhat dreary weather made for the prettiest even light across the skyline and it looked so pretty! The top of this parking garage + the cloudy weather + the smiles on these two made for such a perfect combination.
After taking photos on top of the garage, we moved down to take some more around Auditorium Shores and The Long Center. Usually these places would be pretty crowded on a weekday right after work, but the weather kept most of the runners / bikers / dog-walkers (Austin!) away and we pretty much had the area to ourselves.
Enjoy a few of my favorites of Nate and Erica’s Downtown Austin engagement photos!
