Malibu Beach Senior Photos | Masina – Oaks Christian Senior

Masina is a senior at Oaks Christian School, and we planned her session around some of the most scenic locations for her Malibu beach senior photos. We chose a mix of mountain views and beach settings to give her gallery variety while keeping everything cohesive and natural.

Her senior complete portrait experience was split between 2 different sessions and included three outfits and three locations: the Santa Monica Mountains, Westward Beach, and Point Dume. Each spot gave a completely different feel while still fitting the relaxed, coastal look she wanted for her senior photos to document this season of life before she moves to the East Coast to attend Harvard University in the fall.

Santa Monica Mountains Senior Photos

We started in the Santa Monica Mountains for a softer, more rural backdrop. This location is one of my favorites for senior photos in Malibu because it gives a completely different look from the beach—warm tones, open space, and a quieter setting.

Masina chose a look that felt effortless and timeless, which worked perfectly with the natural landscape. We kept movement throughout this part of the session—walking, natural and editorial poses and using the soft light as it shifted closer to sunset on the mountains. By adding a denim jacket and hat for the second half of this portion of her senior portrait experience, we created a totally different look without needing a whole outfit change.

Westward Beach Senior Photos

For her second session, we started out at Westward Beach. This spot is one of the best locations for Malibu beach senior photos—easy access, open shoreline, and consistent light right before sunset.

Masina opted for a long, flowy white maxi dress, which fit the setting perfectly. We focused on natural movement—walking along the shoreline, interacting with the water, and keeping everything feeling easy and unposed.

Westward Beach is especially great for seniors who want that classic California beach look without distractions in the background. It photographs clean and timeless, which makes it a go-to for many of my Malibu senior sessions.

Point Dume Senior Photos

We finished the session at Point Dume, which always brought even more diversity to her senior portrait gallery. The cliffs and ocean views create a strong backdrop that feels distinctly Malibu.

Masina chose a more relaxed and casual outfit for this location and opted for light wash jeans and a cream knit sweater, which worked really well with the light at this spot and the chilly breeze. Point Dume is perfect for seniors who want something a little more unique while still keeping a natural, coastal look. It’s one of the most recognizable spots in Malibu and always adds variety to a full session with costal rocks, open beaches and lifeguard stands.
